HOME Australia Pavilion — Venice Architecture Biennale 2025
Client: HOME First Nations Team
HOME represents a visionary expression of Country — not as a place confined by geography, but as a living, breathing system of knowledge, kinship, and care.
I was honoured to be apart of the team Art Director and Branding Lead, collaborating directly with a multidisciplinary First Nations team to bring their vision to life at the prestigious Venice Architecture Biennale 2025. This project was more than an exhibition — it was a cultural and design statement. It invited the world to reimagine the built environment through the lens of Indigenous knowledge, community, and Country.
I was entrusted with translating deep cultural narratives into a compelling and respectful visual identity that supported the pavilion’s themes of belonging, storytelling, and environmental stewardship.
This required an intuitive, collaborative, and culturally sensitive approach. Key Responsibilities included Visual Identity, Logo Development, Typography & colour Direction, Environment and Digital Application across social and web.
The HOME logomark centers around a ceremonial circle that forms the letter 'O', symbolising inclusivity, dialogue, and kinship. This circle became the foundational visual element, establishing a cohesive visual language that unified all brand assets and communications.
The HOME Pavilion branding received acclaim for its respectful fusion of culture and contemporary design. Visitors were invited not just to observe but to participate, with many leaving behind contributions that became part of the living archive.
Our collaborative process became a model for culturally grounded creative direction, encouraging future exhibitions to adopt Indigenous-led and inclusive design practices.
This project has been one of the most meaningful of my career. Working alongside First Nations knowledge holders and creatives, I was reminded that design is not only about aesthetics — it’s about relationship, responsibility, and return. HOME is not just an exhibition. It is a living reminder of how we must design, move, and connect as if the world were our own home.
