Agenda 2033

Client: Chief Executive Women (CEW)

When Chief Executive Women (CEW) approached us at Now We Collide to reimagine their annual Leadership Summit, I knew this wasn’t going to be a typical event identity. This was a once-in-a-decade opportunity to shift perceptions, to accelerate change — and to visually articulate a bold, urgent mission: closing the gender leadership gap by 2033.

The result was Agenda 2033, a rebranded summit backed by data, driven by purpose, and wrapped in a visual system designed to reflect clarity, momentum, and inclusivity.

CEW’s 2022 census data showed: at the current pace, gender equality in leadership wouldn't be achieved for another 100 years. That stat haunted us. It also galvanized the brief — how do we communicate the urgency of closing that gap, not in a century, but in the next decade?

From an art direction standpoint, we needed to craft a design language that didn’t just talk about change — it had to look and feel like change in action. The visual identity had to capture a future-forward, action-driven tone, while remaining grounded in CEW’s core values: credibility, leadership, diversity, and resolve.

One of the most deliberate — and effective — decisions in the Agenda 2033 branding was putting 2033 at the forefront of an event held in 2023.

When audiences first encountered the logo, many did a double take. “Wait… is that a typo?” That confusion wasn’t accidental. It was exactly what we wanted.

Color System

Our palette balanced energy with professionalism. Bold purples and teals nodded to CEW’s legacy while introducing freshness and digital fluency. We used contrast and gradation to imply transformation — a visual cue for the shift we’re striving for.

Typography & Form

Typography played a central role. We selected a clean, geometric sans-serif typeface to bring modernity and boldness to every touchpoint. Strong typographic hierarchy helped express urgency without becoming aggressive — clear, direct, and confident, like the leaders we aim to champion.

As an art director, this project hit differently. It wasn’t about aesthetics for aesthetics' sake. This was about design serving a mission — empowering women, amplifying leadership, and accelerating equality.

Agenda 2033 stands as one of the proudest moments of my career — not just because of how it looked, but because of what it stands for.
