the white the off white the beige
Richie Benaud, an icon in the cricket and sporting commentary world. The SCG re-named their media centre and wanted a statement entry piece to acknowledge such a man.
The concept: to create a mural that was subtle and elegant. Benuad was known for wearing his Channel 9 beige suits this sparked the creative concept of a white on white piece. The illustration was a vector drawn piece that was laser cut on shades of white and stacked to create the 3D effect, a silhouette of the SCG, a famous quote and a museum grade cabinet with his jacket.
Cricket has so many meanings to so many Australians.
Its become precisely that an australian way of life.
